Strings 04:12
Time to pull the strings And to recall what you once said I came a long way With my heart in my hand In a warm embrace Rest my head here for a while Let my body weight Harden the floor Pull the strings Turn the tide of battle Time to furl sails My ship sails in a bottle I’m riding days like waves We can tie our strings Heal the scars and seal the cracks All your pretty words Goes straight into my purse We might settle down I might get more than I deserve Place my honesty Next to my fur Pull the Strings Turn the tide of battle Time to furl sails My ship sails in a bottle I’m riding days like waves

Tuning (free) 04:24
Hold the mirrors up Hear the noise Try to fit in I am offbeat I am offbeat Tuning in Audition for the show Face deserve the eyes A bit more lipstick on my mouth Gather around me Gather around me Like a womb I should, I shouldn’t go Like you They might hire me someday They might hire me someday I should, I shouldn’t go Like you They might hire me someday They might hire me someday Like they once hired you too A perfect candidate Suitability And skills Yet, I am offbeat I am offbeat Tuning in Audition for the show Walking hand in hand Extended glory shines on me Yet not too bright What if they can see me bare I should, I shouldn’t go Like you They might hire me someday They might hire me someday I should, I shouldn’t go Like you They might hire me someday They might hire me someday Like they once hired you too

Cry 03:50
We called it off I miss you I guess I am crazy still I don’t remember happy The core in life sure is misplaced So I would say cry I hope you do I would say cry I hope you’ve lost it too We called it off I’m shrieking inside I guess I am childish still Well I’m walking and I’m talking With my head held high These are my best tricks I would say cry I hope you do I would say cry I hope you’ve lost it too
4.
Stars 05:45
Yes I’ve been hopeless And I’ve been blue Knocked on the heartaches Someone let me in Yes I’ve been worried And I’ve been too pale These are my teardrops I spend them all on you I know I know I spend my stars on you I spend my stars on you Yes I’ve been hopeless But I’ll be around Things seems to work out In anonymous ways Too mediocre But I’m prepared to try These are my daydreams I spend them all on you I know I know I spend my stars on you I spend my stars on you I spend my stars on you I spend my stars on you
5.
Dance (free) 03:32
Soaked up in you Hoping you would see me I took a bow Hoping you would lead me In time In time Lies seeking you Dream I’m in your daydream Hopeless and weak Only clouds can ease me In time In time I would save you the last dance I would save you the last dance I would save you the last dance I would save you Throw me a bone We can do it your way Carved like a stone To fit into your shape In time In time I would save you the last dance I would save you the last dance I would save you the last dance I would save you
6.
Show 01:52
Show me your headlights And I’ll show you mine Holler your ambitions And I’ll holler mine Seductive friend Within your grasp I’m a seductive friend I’m cool and I’m shy But I can too stand out
7.
Cheers 03:32
White summer day Raising my glass Let’s drink to all what lead us here White summer day Resetting time Let’s drink to your hand in mine Let’s wake up tomorrow with a smile A little bit hung over And tired Let’s wake up tomorrow With a smile A little bit hung over And tired But as husband and wife

Songs 03:52
Going there Secrets, lust and shame Rearranging books on Things to do, to do Fogging up my history my wine Giving it away to someone new Someone new Songs I sing out loud Won’t give you chills I still waste my time Waiting for it Promises broken in the heat Intoxicated dreams to Hide away, away Celebrate ordinary days Count the sheep or Reek of bittersweet embrace Songs I sing out loud Won’t give you chills I still waste my time Waiting for it
9.
Door 06:10
Trying not to fall back in I’m dirty footprints outside your front door I’ve been hiding under lights Fear and mirrors and having to relate I’m still looking back To times With dirty boots And you Bite my lips and shut my eyes How to enter without blush and shame Clean and shiny floors before my feet Running into someone half the way So I keep looking back To times With dirty boots And you

about

Stina Stjern Oslo, Norway

Norwegian artist Stina Stjern wrote most of her new album when she lived in Brooklyn, New York. The album is called “Days Like Waves”. Musically it is just as right to say that the knitting of Norwegian winter sweaters has inspired the music of Stina Stjern, as it is to say that she has spent all the time knitting those sweaters listening to alternative rock. ... more
